Central role for product definitions
For every article, a product definition is kept in the central database. The product definition aggregates the know-how, processing specifications and parameters to manufacture a product: ingredients, packing materials, machine settings, operator instructions.

The great variation of products results in a lot of exceptions on the shop-floor. Every product is unique, but the use of centralised product definitions makes that variability and the related exceptions manageable.

Reduce errors and waste
Based on real-time production activities, MEScontrol.net retrieves the product specifications from the database and transfers the data to the people and machinery on the shop-floor. Thus, the use of faulty, outdated or invalid specifications, and the related financial risk, are eliminated.
