On-the-job learning
and knowledge management
Centralised knowledge management
Thanks to integrated knowledge management, distributed
product and process know-how from various disciplines
can be aggregated. Know-how is linked to product
definitions or equipment, like instructions for
operative personnel, quality criteria, maintenance
or safety documents. By pushing that information
to those who need it, at the right time (operators,
administration, management, logistics), errors
and waste are reduced.
eLearning on the shop-floor
Operators get on-the-job instructions and information
about the product and the installation, what they
have to pay attention to, how to perform specific
actions, etc. It results in continuous training
of personnel. Built-in security ensures that users
only have access to information relevant to the
job.
From pictures to custom
data
MEScontrol.net provides the framework for structuring
and defining knowledge objects for product definitions,
equipment, processes and work centers. Knowledge
objects are stored in the database and need no
longer be stored on external file servers. It
may involve pictures, CAD drawings, wiring diagrams,
HACCP documentation, work instructions, best practices,
safety procedures, hyperlinks, etc. |
